One Step Closer

One of the things I had to do for the audiobook is to upload a square cover for the front of the book. Photoshop doesn’t work on the laptop, so I downloaded GIMP.

Now, I’ve never used GIMP before and it took a while for me to figure out what I needed to do to get the effect I wanted. The layer effects and the text effects aren’t in the same spot. I finally found the bevel effects and the drop shadow panels and found that they worked! It only took me 4 hours to find the drop shadow and another 3 to find the bevel effects. They are not in logical places, but given that the price was right (free), I suppose I shouldn’t complain.

It’s not supposed to be Photoshop, so telling the developers to make it like Photoshop is a bit of a slap in the face to the developers. They’ve done a damfine job with the program and I just need to learn how to use it properly. I need to learn patience and practice.

<sigh> I hate learning patience.
